Benny I believe that "unconditional" love is the level of love that the apostle Paul taught that we will only know when "completeness" comes (1 Corinthians 13:10). Until then, we can only know it in part. This comes just after he gives a most thorough and beautiful definition for what it means to love. The song by For King and Country says "There's a kind of love that God only knows". They also sing "... so let my life be the proof of your love". I love this band because they seem to hit the nail on the head, particularly on this topic. Through life, I believe God expects us to grow through our circumstances and learn how to resist the evils of Satan. We are to gain knowledge and understanding of the Word of God, which can be confusing. We are not to interpret the Word, but instead study more and more through all of scripture to gain an understanding. We find that there is an interconnection between each and every part of the bible. Jesus, himself, answered the question posed by "an expert in the law"... What is the greatest commandment in the Law. He said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matt 22: 34-40. This shows the importance God places on Love. Satan has a different plan and continually tests our ability to love. But we have the power to defeat him if we hold God and his precepts in our heart. See Romans 8: 27-38. One last comment about the "unconditional" kind of love. I think it was demonstrated through the life and actions of Jesus and was validated on the cross. There has been no other human that ever achieved that level of love. We all fall short. Love, Dad
